Program History

Year 1: 2019 - Independent team, 1-24 record, approx 25 players.
Year 2: 2020 - Still independent team, approx 35 players, COVID shortened season of 15 games max, 5-10 record, many 1 goal losses, 2 signature wins over rival Wayne and Fair Lawn both who were North Jersey ranked, first year of JV team.
Year 3: 2021 - First year in Big North Conference, approx 40 players, first-ever Big North Gold Cup Playoffs berth, made the Passaic County Tournament Finals, Ranked in the top 20 in North Jersey, Finished 3rd in Division, 13-12-1 record, Senior Capt. Ammendola earned 1st Team All County, JV team wins Ice Vault League Championship.
Year 4: 2022 - 40+ players, 12-10-3 record, finished 2nd place in Big North Stars Division, won 1st ever Big North Gold Cup Playoff game, Ranked 9 in State Public A, won Passaic County Championship vs rival Wayne, three 1st Team All County Players, won a regular game vs River Dell at Prudential Center.
Year 5: 2023

Tryout Information

2023-2024 ice hockey team tryouts will take place on:

• November 20th at the Ice Vault at 3:15pm (on-ice)

• November 21st on the PCTI campus at 3:15pm (dryland)

• November 22nd at the Ice Vault at 3:15pm (on-ice)

All new and returning players must have a valid medical physical completed by a physician and submitted to the PCTVS nurses prior to the start of the winter sports season, November 20, 2023. New medical forms and medical update forms can be acquired by emailing the PCTI ice hockey coaches.

Team Information

The PCTI ice hockey program consists of both JV and Varsity teams. The home ice rink of both teams is the Ice Vault in Wayne, NJ.

The PCTI varsity team currently plays in the Big North Conference (20+ games) and the JV team plays in the Ice Vault JV League (12+ games).

PCTI provides all rostered varsity and JV players with the following equipment:

• Helmets (gray or black cages required but not provided)

• Gloves with Bulldogs logo

• Game Jerseys- (JV home and away)(Varsity home, away, and alternate)

• Practice Jerseys

• Game Shells (home and away)

• Varsity warm-up sweatsuits

All other ice hockey equipment must be provided by the player themselves.

On-ice team practices are located at the Ice Vault in Wayne, NJ. Buses are provided to and from the PCTI campus for rostered players.

The current 2023-2024 practice schedule is:

• Monday 3:15-4:15pm

• Wednesday 3:15-4:15pm

• Thursday 4:45-5:45pm
